This Sims 3 Supernatural expansion pack is good even for those who are not particularly fond of supernatural media and other related stuff. PS: MasonGamer, LOVE your EP ideas! I want a dentistry-loving fairy in my games! I imagine it'd be murder to program though. It'd be fun to create magical objects that combined a Skill with Magic ability. The Tamora Pierce fangirl in me would also like to see craft magic - Sims who can work magic with their skills (art, writing, weaving etc.) in addition to Elementals. It was weird.and a pity, because that was a great release schedule.Īs for further ideas, I'd like to see the return of wild wolves - my Sims 2 characters always befriended the local pack, and it made sense when there were werewolves around. That was a GREAT idea! But somehow, we ended up with two factions, one rubbishing the supernatural elements in the Sims and one defending it to the death. That's why I was so puzzled at the Supernatural VS Seasons fiasco when the two were released within weeks of each other: if you wanted magic, great, jackpot! If you didn't, well, give it a couple of weeks and you'll have Seasons.

Still, the same could be said of a Supernatural EP: if you don't like those elements in your game, you're probably going to have a year between EPs that interest you. Really, that would have solved several problems, since any toddler/family-centric EP being released probably means a further six months of waiting for anyone who's not interested in that to get additional content: if they'd been in the game from the start, it would have cleared a path for actual additional content, instead of playing catchup to the Sims 3 base game. Personally, I'd love to see magic make a comeback before we get a whole EP dedicated to stuff that should have been in the game from the word 'go'. Plenty of people love playing legacy stories, building family trees and setting self-imposed challenges, and for them, toddlers are a big miss. However, that's my own, rather bizarre playstyle. Children are rare, toddlers and babies completely nonexistent. They're usually teens, young adults or adults. My Sims tend to live my own delusions of immortality, with the aging firmly off and eternity to develop new skills and go on new adventures. I've never understood the fuss over Generations, since for me, it was the absolute worst of the Expansion packs, with a grand total of perhaps 2 gameplay elements that made it into regular playthroughs (dating and the chemistry table, the latter of which was still a letdown because there was no separate Chemistry skill - just more Logic). I admit: I've got no time for the baby and toddler ages in the Sims myself. I still get a lot of mileage out of them. That said, if you can, I'd definitely recommend playing the Supernatural EPs from previous Sims. Vampires will probably make a comeback, but I'm not sure about alchemy (especially since Herbalism is already there) and a lunar calendar. The same might happen with a supernatural EP. For example, I adored the horses, and ESPECIALLY the unicorns in Sims 3.but the lack of an open world in Sims 4 makes me worry that they might just not bother with those features, even when/if there's a Pets expansion. And that's assuming that we get most of the Sims 3 stuff in Sims 4 - I admit, I'm half-expecting to see a lot of my favourite S3 features missed out. There are many Simmers who HATE supernatural elements in their games, and I'd predict a huge outcry if we got Elementals before we got toddlers (or even seasons). It'd be a (very pleasant!) surprise if we got a magical Sims 4 EP early on. Sims 3 Supernatural wasn't the last EP for Sims 3 (that was Into The Future), but it did come much later on.

Apartment Life, which included witches, was the last Sims 2 EP. However, Supernatural EPs tend to come at the tail end of the EP schedule. We've had vampires, werewolves, witches, fairies, plantsims, aliens and mermaids in Sims games before, so coming up with a new lifestate would be pretty impressive at this stage! Shapeshifting might be a really fun skill to play with, especially with a Pets EP, but I imagine that would be tricky to implement. There was a rumour about Elemental Sims (air/earth/fire/water manipulators) and runes, and I would buy that EP at light speed! I would LOVE to have those kinds of Sim in my game, and it would be something new and unique to Sims 4. It also lets you create more 'fantastic' characters and stories of your own.or create characters from your favourite fantasy novels/TV shows/games. Alchemy's one of my favourite skills, since it mixed skills and collectibles (which I'm a little obsessive about). The magic EPs have always been my favourites - especially Sims 3 Supernatural (aside from the dratted zombies).
